Music Information Technology [MIT]<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

In the western world, the universities had started a new field of study and research;\u00a0<\/span>Under the titles such as \u201cMusic Information Technology\u201d, \u201cMusic Technology\u201d and \u201cComputer Music\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

In India, for the first time MIT (Music Information Technology) was introduced by Dr Vee<\/strong> as the Convergence of Music & Computing technology, followed by R&D projects.<\/span><\/p>

The unique aspect of the syllabus and course materials of MIT by Dr Vee, included the new universal music teaching methodology<\/strong>. In this methodology, the music illiterate students were transformed into Music literates with music composing capabilities to specialize in any kind of world music.<\/span><\/p>

Difference between the Traditional & Dr Vee\u2019s method of music learning<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

Without depending on particular kind of music (Ex: Western, Carnatic, & etc) linked to vocal or Instrumental based traditional music learning; Dr Vee\u2019s MIT based learning method had provided a basic macroscopic understanding of world music with the skills to specialize any kind of world music.<\/span><\/p>

Dr Vee had introduced and validated the above method as an elective subject (common to all disciplines) of university students at NIT (Trichy) India and SASTRA University, India. The success of Dr Vee\u2019s method attracted more students, forcing to conduct more batches in the subsequent academic years.<\/span><\/p>

The above students had the following beniefts,<\/span><\/p>

  2. Music related cognitive skills development leading to better performance in academic and career.<\/span><\/li>
  3. To develop Composing and Enjoying music as a passionate hobby<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    MIT related R & D project:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

    On \u201cDefreezing the music from\u00a0 building architecture\u201d:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    The Logic of Defreezing the Music from the Building Architecture, started from Vitruvius (80 -15 BC)<\/strong>, and pursued by\u00a0 Iannis Xenakis<\/strong>, among many others in the modern era<\/strong>, was finally discovered by Dr.Vee<\/strong>, as the Project Consultant of the on-going R & D project at National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India, with patent and published in SCI journal \u2018Multimedia Tools and Applications \u2013 Springer<\/a>\u2018<\/span><\/p>

    Musical Linguistics:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    The present products like speech-to-text, text-to-speech, etc of NLP (Natural Language Processing) were based on Linguistics. A new field of \u2018Musical Linguistics\u2019 & NLP may lead to developing lyric-to-music, music-to-lyric<\/strong> , etc application products.<\/span><\/p>

    Published a research paper on \u2018Musical Phonetics in <\/strong>tholkAppiam<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> (2013) in the journal from the International Institute of Tamil Studies, Taramani, Chennai.<\/span><\/p>

    Published a research paper on \u2018Tholkappiam\u00a0 and the use of Sanskrit words in Tamil<\/strong>\u2019 in the Journal of Sanskrit Academy- Vol XX-2010<\/span><\/p>

    One day workshop on \u00a0“Research Perspectives in Music Signal Processing<\/strong>”\u00a0 at ECE Dept, PSG Tech Coimbatore, on 6 August 2016<\/span><\/p>

    Devised the syllabus & teaching \u2018Natural Language Processing\u2019 for the M.B.A paper on \u2018Machine Learning & Natural Language Processing<\/strong>\u2019 at NIT, Trichy for 2017-2018 Academic year.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
