After completing M.Sc (St.Joseph’s College, Trichy, India) in Physics with Electronics as the special subject, Dr.Vee joined St.Xaviers’s College, Palayamkottai in 1971 as faculty in Physics; later selected for teaching in Government Colleges in Tamilnadu, India.  

He completed M.Phil in applied Physics at NIT Trichy (then REC), India in 1982;
P.G.D.J (Mass Communication) at St.Joseph’s College Trichy[Autonomous], India in1989;
P.G.C.S (Sociological Theories) at St.Joseph’s College Trichy[Autonomous], India in 1990;
B.L (Bachelor In Law) at Government Law College Trichy, India in 1991;
Doctorate (Ph.D) in ‘Physics of Tamil Music’ at Tamil University, India in 1996

Responsibilities Held:

Apart from serving as Professor in Physics, Presidency College (Chennai), India; Dr.Vee had served as the member of the ‘Board of Studies’ in music at the University of Madras, devised the syllabus & course materials for ‘Physics of Music’ and ‘Computer Music’.

Later he worked as Principal, Sudharsan College of Arts & Science, Pudukkottai, India. During this time, he devised the syllabus for the post graduate diploma course in “Non-Destructive Testing”, Approved by the Senate of the Barathidasan University, India; availing the inputs from the IGCAR (Indira Gandhi Centre of Atomic Research, Kalpakam, India.) then director Dr Baldevraj (http://www.nias.res.in/content/people?qt-faculty_tabs=1#qt-faculty_tabs)

To pursue Inter-disciplinary research and Introduce ‘Music Information Technology’ for the Engineering students, Dr Vee served as professor in the School of Computing at SASTRA University, India. Then he introduced ‘Music Information Technology’ with Practical & Assignment modules to Engineering students at National Institute of Technology (Trichy), India; while serving as the project consultant to Research & Development projects.

Dr.Vee had devised the syllabus for ‘Natural Language Processing’ for the M.B.A paper on ‘Machine Learning & Natural Language Processing’ at NIT, Trichy for 2017-2018 Academic year & taking classes.

Dr.Vee founded the first Indian music website ‘www.southindianmusic.com’ in 1998 and online music journal ‘Music Mail’; Now continuing as “www.southindianmusic.org” (Website data migration  on progress)

Dr.Vee had served as guide for Ph.D in music and also served as expert to value the research papers submitted by the Ph.D scholars in the music department of the University of Madras, India.

Dr.Vee was appointed as a member of the two-men Experts Committee by the Government of Tamilnadu,  to value the Tamil Music Encyclopaedia Project, headed by the late Prof.Dr.Thiruppampuram Shanmugasundaram, then the Principal of the Government Music College, Chennai.

Dr.Vee had conducted several workshops, published articles in many journals, national and inter-national conferences, and books in English & Tamil.

Evolving as Music Information Technologist

With more than 30 years of teaching undergraduate courses & 25 years of teaching post graduate courses in Physics, Dr.Vee had handled all the subjects in Physics, including Digital Electronics & Applied Electronics (both theory & practical), enabling the development as the Music Information Technologist, after the completion of the Ph.D involving Physics & Music; apart from serving as the member of the Board of Studies in Physics & Music, in the University of Madras.
